Sel went way back with Daphne, when they attended the same tuition agency in JB in their secondary school days.
We were delighted when Daphne extended an invitation to attend her wedding, as well as provide cakes for the occasion! And boy, a themed-wedding party! Sounds fun! :)
The theme was set to a 1960s theme with a very sweet pastel colour palette. The bride generously allowed us to propose the design and after diving into a very exciting 60s--lots of patterns and colours--we decided to go with Mod circles. The bride requested us to look for something beyond the ordinary, and so we went to the not-so-ordinary sources like Toys-R-Us to look for ideas. It was so interesting to see the different toys they sell nowadays! We knew we found a winner when we found nanoblocks. They are like lego bricks on nano-scale and you can make them into little pixelated-looking animals. So apt for Daphne and her husband Nick, who are big animal-lovers (particularly cute furry little ones) and social media specialists/enthusiasts. So fun for us to make as well. :)
The wedding was held at Seb's Bistro and we were glad the cakes added a lovely touch to the beautiful party. Congratulations again, Daphne and Nick!
What we made:
- Dark choco-ganache cupcakes and whole cake
- Decorated with marshmallow fondant
